Grass Roots Sports took a team to participate in a 5-a-side competition in Leeds, this was organised by HANWAG. It was held at the Leeds University. It was also a day were there were a lot of other activities going on. The team had to produce a neighbourhood sheet (large flip board size) this had information from the lads on their area they lived in, what they thought about it, what was good to do in the area etc.

This was the team we took from Cleeve Primary School aged 10. The competition consisted of 24 teams from around the Yorkshire area.

Our Team played 5 games and won 3 of them, only to be piped at the post going through to the finals by goal difference!! BUT they played 2 friendlies against the top 2 teams and won both!!

The qualities of the skills shown on the pitch were fantastic, with a great sense of fairplay shown in ALL games.

Frank Mckenna (Grass Roots Director of Sports) and John Hardy (Grass Roots Sports Development Manager) who took the team were VERY proud of the team, from the way they played on the pitch to the way they conducted themselves throughout the day.
